Organized in four groups: war file, intelligence reports, war dispatches, and special correspondence-topical. Arranged chronologically within the groups, except the special correspondence-topical file, which is organized by topic and then chronologically. The intelligence reports consist of copies of reports and maps from Headquarters, Fourth U.S. Marines, Shanghai, China. The war file and war dispatches file also contain indexes.
