Photographs of guests; producer/moderator Lawrence Spivak; moderators Ned Brooks, Ruth Jackson, and Martha Rountree; and the television audience on the set of the public affairs television program entitled The Big Issue in 1953. Guests included mostly national leaders, members of Congress, government officials, and ambassadors. The program featured a debate between guests on the opposing sides of an issue and included questions from a panel of journalists and sometimes the audience. Topics of "Big issue" included the Korean War, economic policy, civil rights, juvenile delinquency, and civil defense. Also includes photographs of special programs moderated by Lawrence Spivak: "Election '56," "Is revolution in the U.S.S.R. possible or impossible," a program for Northwestern University alumni, and a show on the Pentagon Papers. A few images depict backstage or production scenes. Includes printed programs for some shows.

Includes images of Lawrence Spivak being interviewed on television, Spivak presenting awards, attending social events and conferences, and receiving an honorary degree at Suffolk University. Also includes publicity shots of Spivak alone and with Martha Rountree, photographs of the 10th and 20th Meet the Press anniversary parties, and Spivak's farewell party in 1975. Includes photograph of Spivak and staff at the Mercury Publications Christmas party in 1952.

Photographs depict the guests, producer and permanent panelist Lawrence Spivak, moderator Ned Brooks, and others on the set of the Meet the Press television show. Guests include Secretary of the Army Wilber M. Bruckner, mayors appearing on the 1968 Mayors' Conference show, Richard Nixon, and four images of Hubert Humphrey. Most of these photographs are autographed with the name of the guest and sometimes with a message to Spivak. Also includes photographs of Spivak and Brooks with guests Lyndon Johnson, John F. Kennedy, and Senator Stuart Symington on the set of Meet the Press in Los Angeles during the 1960 Democratic Convention, and photographs of Spivak with Nelson Rockefeller.

Portraits of congressmen, governors, and other associates of Lawrence Spivak, alone or with Spivak. Portraits are autographed with the name of the sitter and sometimes with a message to Spivak. Includes three images of Spivak with Governor John Volpe of Massachusetts at an American Legion Convention, a portrait by Yousuf Karsh of radio and television pioneer David Sarnoff, Senator Prescott Bush, Governor John A. Notte, Jr. of Rhode Island with Spivak at an inaugural party for governors in 1956, and others.
