    Summary:

    The Charles B. Peterson road map collection contains maps collected by Charles B. Peterson dating from 1911 to 2007. The maps cover locations in the United States, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Peterson, as a child, began collecting maps from gas service stations and later wrote letters to publishers, in which he requested maps. Peterson described each map on 3 x 5 inch index card. The index cards are part of the collection and housed in seven boxes.
