Central to the collection is the correspondence of Abigail Adams with her sister, Elizabeth Smith Shaw Peabody, and with Elizabeth Peabody's children, Abigail Adams Shaw Felt and William Smith Shaw. Includes sermons and other papers of Joseph Barlow Felt relating to New England; state laws; practices regulating religious fasts and feasts, especially Thanksgiving; court records; and Salem, Massachusetts, town records.
