In addition, it contains manuscript and heavily annotated printed copies of Kreisler's transcriptions of other composers' music. It also contains correspondence, financial and legal documents, programs, clippings, writings, photographs, awards and honors. The collection includes the papers of Kreisler's biographer Louis Lochner, which contain Kreisler's personal papers and material related to the biography.

   Summary:

   Leonard B. Smith (1915-2002) was an American cornetist, concert band conductor, and band music publisher. Smith is primarily known as the leader of the Detroit Concert Band (1946- circa 1990), and the approximately 3,200 titles in the concert band library comprise the largest portion of the collection. Also included is a portion of the Ford Sunday Evening Hour Orchestra music library, method books, chamber music, cornet and trumpet solos, clippings, correspondence, photographs, programs, and writings.

   Harold Bauer was an English violinist and pianist, teacher, and music editor who corresponded with many musical luminaries of his day, including Ernest Bloch, Nadia Boulanger, Pablo Casals, Gabriel Fauré, Percy Grainger, Jascha Heifetz, Josef Hofmann, Gustav Holst, Vincent d'Indy, Fritz Kreisler, Charles Martin Loeffler, Pierre Monteux, Moritz Moszkowski, Vladimir de Pachmann, Ignace Jan Paderewski, Isidore Philipp, Henry Prunières, Carl Ruggles, Carlos Salzedo, Gustave Schirmer, Leopold Stokowski, and Efrem Zimbalist. The collection contains manuscript and printed scores, correspondence, writings, clippings, programs and publicity materials, awards, photographs, artwork, and other items related to his life and career.

   Summary:

   Sergei Rachmaninoff was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. The Sergei Rachmaninoff Archive contains material related to his life and career after he and his family left Russia in 1917 to establish themselves in the United States. The archive contains Rachmaninoff's holograph music manuscripts, correspondence, writings, biographical articles and clippings, awards and honors, concert programs, scrapbooks, financial papers, iconography, realia, and published books and other materials held within the personal library of Rachmaninoff and his family. A section is also devoted to the papers of Sophie Satin, the composer's sister-in-law and biographer. This section contains Satin's writings, as well as the results of her lifelong research on Rachmaninoff.
