    Summary:

    Neil Simon (1927-2018) was a playwright and screenwriter who is best known for the more than 30 plays and musicals, more than 30 screenplays and teleplays, and two autobiographies he authored over the course of four decades. The collection holds complete and partial drafts of more than 210 individual titles written by Simon for the stage and screen as well as drafts of his two biographies: Rewrites (1996) and The Play Goes On (1999). Other materials include awards and honors, clippings, correspondence, personal papers and memorabilia, photographs, and sketches and drawings created by Simon. The collection also contains posters and programs from performances of Simon's work, including international productions.

    Ethel Merman (1908-1984) was an American actress and singer. She was a legendary figure in the history of the American musical theater and during her career on Broadway, in Hollywood, and on television, and was known for her belting voice and strong stage presence. The collection chiefly consists of scripts, lyric sheets, photographs, and notes from the various productions in which Merman starred, but also includes correspondence, music, clippings, and programs.

    Martha Graham (1894-1991) was an internationally acclaimed modern dance choreographer and performer of the twentieth century. The Research Materials on Martha Graham is an artificial collection conceived to assemble the documentation of Martha Graham's legacy generated from projects funded by a 1998 grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF). The collection includes transcripts of interviews, photographs, performance and event programs, clippings and publications, correspondence, awards, materials documenting Library of Congress events pertaining to Graham, and other items related to Graham and her company.

    Summary:

    The World War II unit route maps collection consists of maps created by individual U.S. military units commemorating and outlining their movements, engagements, and routes of travel during the second World War. The maps primarily depict historical and geographic landmarks and major events pictorially. Most maps were created by units of the U.S. Army at the division and battalion level, and many are undated, but presumed to have been created in or around 1945 at the conclusion of the war. Units operating in Western Europe -- particularly France, the Low Countries, and Germany -- have the most representation, with select maps depicting Italy, North Africa, the Pacific Ocean, the Philippines, and the Aleutian Islands. The collection consists of 85 unique maps.

Includes interviews with Vietnam War protesters, draft resisters, and topical songs written about the Vietnam War; many songs about other events of the 1960s and 1970s, including the African American civil rights movement; Native American survival movement; the women's rights and gay rights movements. The collection includes some tapes submitted by performers or listeners of Barbara Dane's shows, some with accompanying letters.
