The Inauguration 2009 Sermons and Orations Project collection includes manuscripts (letters, sermons, orations, church programs, etc.), audio and video recordings, photographs, and other graphic materials created by the public in response to the 2009 election and inauguration of President Barack Obama and collected by the American Folklife Center. Includes submissions from over 300 individuals, religious and secular organizations, from 39 states and the District of Columbia, and from Nairobi, Kenya and Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, recorded January 16-25, 2009.

Summary:
Collection consists of manuscripts, field recordings, photographs, and ephemera documenting folk music and folk music revivals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from 1938 to 1966; plus manuscripts and field recordings of mostly unidentified artists performing folk music in Jamaica, Cuba, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Morocco, Hong Kong, Philippines, India, and Thailand from 1953 to 1969 collected by Sam Eskin. Manuscript materials include correspondence, transcriptions of songs and lyrics, folk festival programs and flyers, a Japanese song book, Eskin's lecture notes, and his collection of bawdy songs and limericks.

Collection of sound recordings of Washington, D.C. area folk music radio programs on WASH and WAMU-FM, hosted by John Dildine, with live interviews, and featuring some previously recorded selections. The collection also includes sound recordings of concerts, folk festivals (including selections from the Fox Hollow Folk Festival, 1968 and 1969) and other folk music events in Maryland; Virginia; St. Louis, Missouri; New York state, and other locations. Collection includes performances and interviews with well known musicians from the United States, Great Britain, Scotland, and Ireland; plus a few shows featuring recordings of music from Kenya and from India. Some items are dubs of commercial recordings.

Papers and audiovisual materials comprising the professional archive of storyteller Connie Regan-Blake created and produced during her career from the 1960s to 2014. Includes video and audio interviews of Connie Regan-Blake; recordings of her performances and those of other storytellers at folk festivals, storytelling festivals, and media events and television programs. Regan-Blake performed at the National Storytelling Festival beginning in the 1970s and for many years as part of the storytelling duo, Folktellers, with her first cousin Barbara Freeman. The collection includes the Folktellers play, Mountain sweet talk, (Asheville, North Carolina's longest running theatrical production). Correspondents include Frank and Anne Warner, David McClosky, Rosa Hicks, English folklorist Katharine Briggs, Ashley Bryan, Kathryn Windham, Joan Bloss (Newberry Award winner), and Jimmy Neil Smith among many others; with photographs, programs; contracts; diaries; and artifacts.
