Biographical Note
In 1994, Aaron Ziegelman organized a research project that engaged archivists, anthropologists and historians in the collection, preservation and analysis of information about Jewish life in his birthplace, Luboml, a shtetl (market town) in Poland, whose Jewish community was destroyed in World War II. Luboml, Libivne in Yiddish, is now within the national borders of Ukraine. This documentary collection resulted in a major traveling exhibition, a book, and a documentary film about everyday life in Luboml during the years between World War I and World War II.
