Biographical Note
The Cooperative Recreation Service was formed as a publishing and distribution center for kits, songbooks, and pamphlets of folk games and songs from the United States and around the world by Lynn Rohrbough and his wife Katherine Ferris Rohrbough in the late 1920s. The Rorhboughs first collected songs and dances while traveling as recreation leaders in churches throughout North America in the 1930s. The publications were sold and distributed to youth agencies and church groups in the United States and internationally.
