Biographical Notes
John McRae Kennelly was born March 5th, 1895, in Leadville, Colorado. He enlisted in the United States Army during World War I with the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF). Assigned to the Company D, 364th Infantry Regiment, 91st Division as a Private First Class, Kennelly was stationed in Belgium and France from 1917 to 1919. After the war, Kennelly returned home to his wife, Clara, and they had three children, John Jr., Jean, and Patty. They later moved their family to Hillsboro, Oregon, to farm. Kennelly died on December 28, 1978.
