Scope and Content
Selected personal narratives from the collections of the Veterans History Project, relating to the forced removal incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. Narrators include formerly incarcerated people, many of whom served in the United States military during World War II or subsequent conflicts. Also included are a small number of civilian employees of the War Relocation Authority and military personnel whose service included assignments at detention centers. Collection includes personal narratives in the form of audio and video oral histories, biographical information, clippings, civilian papers, creative works, maps, memoirs, military papers, printed matter and photographs.
