February 6, 1924	Anatolii Zakharovich Rubinov born in Smolensk. Birth name Abram Zalmanovich.
1942-1945	Served on the Eastern front with the Soviet army.
1944-1945	Worked for newspaper Otvaga.
1945	Demobilized. Began working for Moscow newspaper Zhilishchnyi rabotnik.
1951	Graduated with honors from Moscow Correspondence Polygraphic Institute in the department of letters and editing (literaturno-redaktorskoe otdelenie) by attending evening courses while working.
March 1951	Published first article, while a student, in journal Smena.
1966	Began work as investigative reporter for Literaturnaia gazeta, where he would remain for 30 years.
1966	Laureate Award from the Union of Journalists of the USSR.
1988	Laureate Award from the Union of Journalists of the USSR.
1988	Laureate Award of the International Competition on Humor and Satire named after Aleko (Bulgaria).
May 9, 2009	Died of heart failure in Moscow.
