Biographical Note
Nicholas R. Chrisman was active in the development of geographic information systems as a former researcher at the Harvard Laboratory for Computer and Spatial Analysis, where he was employed from 1972 to 1982. From 1982 to 1987, he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and from 1987 to 2004, Professor of Geography at University of Washington. From 2005 to 2012, he was Professor of Geomatics Sciences at the Université Laval, Canada as Scientific Director of the GEOIDE Network. He was Professor of Geospatial Science and Discipline Head at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia in 2013-14.
