Biographical Note
William A. Bostick (1913-2007) was a successful artist and served as a U.S. Navy intelligence officer during World War II. He was responsible for the design and supervision of several military maps used during the invasions of Normandy and Sicily. He contributed maps to the 1945 book The Amphibious Sketch.
He was an administrator and secretary at the Detroit Institute of Arts from 1946 to 1976.
Bostick was known for his proficiency with watercolors.
