Summary | Otto A. Ewaldsen served in the U.S. Army 650th Engineer Topographic Battalion during World War II. He authored the book Mapping was our mission: the military history of the 650th Engineer Topographic Battalion during Word War II, August 1942 to April 1946: from Camp White Oregon to Japan. The collection consists of maps of Japan, photocopies of American military bases in Oregon that appeared in his book, and a chart for converting European and Asiatic geographic terms into English. |
