Scope and Content Note
The collection comprises Schwartzberg's working and editorial files for A Historical Atlas of South Asia. It documents the entire process of the creation of the atlas, from its inception, to its initial publication, and to its revision. The collection includes correspondence, drafts of atlas text, a diachronic file of images considered for use in the atlas, an administrative file, and an atlas production file with photographs and proofs of atlas plates, as well as select samples of materials used in the atlas' printing and publication.
