Provenance
The maps in this collection were transferred to the Geography and Map Division from the Manuscript Division, where the William McKinley papers collection is held. The William McKinley papers were given to the Library of Congress by George B. Cortelyou, Sr. and George B. Cortelyou, Jr. from 1935-1967. Additional materials were received by gift, purchase, and transfer from others between 1902-2008, with a final addition in 2014.

The William McKinley map collection was processed and arranged by the Geography and Map Division in 2023.
