Summary | The Dayton Accords map collection contains 83 maps that were made to accompany and inform peace negotiations between representatives of Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia, held at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio. The maps generally consist of 1:50,000 and 1:250,000 topographical maps, mounted on foam-core board and overlaid with plastic film to allow for annotations to be made during the rounds of negotiation. The maps were used by the negotiating parties to establish boundaries; some maps bear original annotations tracing proposed borders and document the history of the development of the current borders. The collection contains two index maps of the individual foam-core board mounted topographic maps. |
