Scope and Content Note
The collection contains an unpublished manuscript for an autobiography of Edward Small, You Don't Have to be Crazy to be in Show Business but it Helps, as told to Robert Kent, screenwriter of eight of Small's films between 1958 and 1970. The autobiography covers Edward Small's career beginning as a vaudeville talent agent through to his years as an independent movie producer. Small recounts his experience as a producer of Red River and many other films, as well as his encounters as an agent with notable Hollywood producers.
