Edward Joseph Smith, 1913-1984, was an operatic music label owner who founded The Golden Age of Opera (1956-1971), Unique Opera Records (1972-1977), and the A.N.N.A. Record Company (1978-1982) labels. Smith's labels included nearly 800 recordings of pirated radio broadcasts and home recordings. Recordings and catalogs were privately listed and distributed among collectors.
