Born Ilene Goldman on March 20, 1930 in New York City, Rusty Warren started her musical education at the age of six by studying piano and voice. She later received her B.A. at the New England Conservatory of Music under the direction of Arthur Fiedler.
Rusty's career took off in the late 1950s when she worked in night and supper clubs across the country. Notably, she scored her first major success at the Pomp Room in Phoenix, AZ in 1958. It was upon her return to the Pomp Room in 1959 where she recorded her first album, Songs for Sinners, and became a party record staple. Rusty eventually worked her way to Las Vegas and had multiple stints at various casinos like The Dunes, The Aladdin Hotel, The Flamingo, and The Sahara primarily during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Beyond her comedy career, Rusty started Marquis Enterprises, a corporation which specialized in real estate, industrial investments, music and book publishing, record production, and manufacturing a complete line of novelty gifts. She was also responsible for establishing a Montessori school for children in Vegas.
Rusty retired to Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Hawaii. She died May 25, 2021.
