Summary | Building and Grounds Division, Library of Congress, was the unit responsible for the planning, design, construction, general operations, and maintenance of the Congressional Library Building, later named the Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building. Correspondence, letterbooks, memoranda, journals, procurement records, account records, employment records, reports, schedules, writings, drawings, blueprints, photographs, printed matter, and artifacts primarily document the commission, construction, and operations of the Thomas Jefferson Building, with some records pertaining to the Annex, later named the Library of Congress John Adams Building, as recorded through the activities of the Office of the Superintendent of the Library Building and Grounds. |
