Acquisition Information
The papers of Thurgood Marshall, lawyer, judge, solicitor general, and associate justice of the United States Supreme Court, were given by Marshall to the Library of Congress in 1991.
Processing History
The papers of Thurgood Marshall were arranged and described in 1992 by Connie L. Cartledge with the assistance of Allyson H. Jackson, Susie H. Moody, Andrew M. Passett, and Robert A. Vietrogoski and the finding aid was revised by Connie L. Cartledge with the assistance of Karen Stuart in 2001. The finding aid was updated in 2023 by Maria Farmer as part of a division-wide remediation project by the Inclusive Description Working Group.
Transfers
Sound recordings have been transferred to the Library's Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as a part of the Marshall Papers.
