Acquisition Information
The papers of John Adams Kingsbury, social worker and social reformer, were given to the Library of Congress in four installments. The first was given by Kingsbury in 1954, the second by his wife Mabel Kingsbury in 1966, the third by his daughter Virginia Hyatt in 1992, and the fourth by Virginia Hyatt and Kingsbury's granddaughter Wendy Hyatt in 1994.
Processing History
Part I of the papers of John Adams Kingsbury was arranged and described in 1957. Additional material received was processed as Part II in 1972 by John Heddesheimer and as Part III in 1998 by Donna Ellis with the assistance of Patricia Craig.
Transfers
Some photographs have been transferred to the Library's Prints and Photographs Division, where they are identified as part of these papers.
