Acquisition Information
The papers of Jules Feiffer, cartoonist, playwright, and author, were donated to the Library of Congress by Jules Feiffer in 1997. The Prints and Photographs Division transferred material to the Manuscript Division in 2001. Additional items were given by Charles Lewsen in 2021.
Processing History
The papers of Jules Feiffer were arranged and described in 2000 and 2001 by Nan Thompson Ernst with the assistance of Douglas G. Weaver. An addition was processed and described in 2022 by Pang H. Xiong. The finding aid was updated in 2023 by Maria Farmer as part of a division-wide remediation project by the Inclusive Description Working Group.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Some drawings and photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. Motion picture films and audiotapes have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division. Some comic books have been transferred to the Serial and Government Publications Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Jules Feiffer Papers. Patrons are encouraged to contact these divisions in advance of a research visit.
