Scope and Content Note
The papers of Earle Hill Kincaid (1894-1961) span the years 1917-1972 with the bulk of the material dating from 1934 to 1945. They pertain to Kincaid’s career as an officer in the United States Navy and consist of personal and official correspondence and other records relating to his military service. The collection focuses on Kincaid’s tours of duty with the Asiatic Fleet in China and the Philippines in the 1930s, at the United States Naval Training Station in Newport, Rhode Island, in the early 1940s, and in Oceania in World War II. Copies of two articles by Kincaid regarding static research and atmospheric pressure document his work in meteorology in the 1920s.
