The papers of Joseph Warren Keifer, army officer, lawyer, banker, and congressman, were given to the Library of Congress in 1958 by his son, William W. Keifer.
Processing History
The papers of Joseph Warren Keifer were arranged and described in 1990. The collection was rearranged and the finding aid revised in 1994 and in 2007.
Transfers
Five maps have been transferred to the Geography and Map Division where they are identified as part of these papers.

A microfilm edition of part of these papers is available on three reels. Consult reference staff in the Manuscript Division concerning availability for purchase or interlibrary loan. To promote preservation of the originals, researchers are required to consult the microfilm edition as available.
