Provenance
The papers of Henry Jackson Hunt, U.S. army officer and public official, were given to the Library of Congress by his great-grandson, J. Conway Hunt, in 1962. A small addition was given to the Library by Richard C. Drum Hunt in 1978.
Processing History
The papers of Henry Jackson Hunt were arranged and described in 1963. The collection was expanded and revised in 1994 and the register revised in 2007.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Some maps have been transferred to the Geography and Map Division. A daguerreotype has been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Henry Jackson Hunt papers.
