Acquisition Information
The papers of Herbert Block, political cartoonist, author, and journalist, were given to the Library of Congress by the Herb Block Foundation in 2002. Other additions were transferred from the Library's Prints and Photographs Division to the Manuscript Division between 2012 and 2014.
Processing History
The papers of Herbert Block were arranged and described in 2006 by Michael Spangler with the assistance of Nicholas Newlin, Carolyn Ray, and Chanté Wilson-Flowers. Additional material received between 2012 and 2014 was processed in 2016 by Connie L. Cartledge.
Transfers
Most original drawings, prints, and photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division where they are identified as part of the Herbert Block Papers.
