Scope and Content Note
The papers of Richard Henry Wilde (1789-1847) span the years 1807-1867. The papers are in English, Italian, German, and Latin. The correspondence relates chiefly to national politics, but the bulk of the material consists of writings by Wilde, including drafts of his poem Hesperia, unpublished works entitled "The Italian Lyric Poets" and "The Life and Times of Dante" as well as other poems, essays, and notes.
