Scope and Content Note
The papers of Charles Withers (1889?-1947) span the years 1917-1942 and consist of scripts, theatrical programs, scrapbooks, clippings, handbills, broadsides, and other memorabilia relating to Withers's career in vaudeville and the theater. Included in the collection are materials which relate to Withers's comedy act called "Wither's Op'ry," which he performed for thirty years, and items on revues in which he appeared, such as The Whirligig and Hellzapoppin.
