Provenance
The papers of William E. Odom, army officer and educator, were given to the Library of Congress by Odom between 1988 and 2008 and by his widow, Anne Odom between 2008 and 2010.
Processing History
Part I of the Odom Papers was arranged and described in 1991 with additional material incorporated into the collection in 1997. The finding aid and organization were revised in 1998 and again in 2008. Additional material received between 2003 and 2010 was processed as Part II in 2017.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Sound and video recordings have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division. Several maps have been transferred to the Geography and Map Division. Two microfilm reels of Russian periodicals have been transferred to the European Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the William E. Odom Papers.
