Scope and Content Note
The papers of the Pike-McConnell-Donaldson family span the years 1770-1967, with the bulk of the material dated between 1902 and 1909. The papers relate to the family members involvement with China, 1902-1909, and to their estates. The papers are arranged in four series: Diaries, Correspondence, Miscellany and Microfilm.
Included are diaries of James S. McConnell and his daughter, Lavinia Pike McConnell Donaldson, 1899-1921. Correspondents among the Pike-McConnell-Donaldson family include Edwin Hurd Conger, United States minister to China, 1897-1904, Lavinia Pike McConnell Donaldson, and David K. Donaldson.
Also included are address books, appointment books, scrapbooks, calling cards, photographs, and printed material. Material on microfilm deals with the estates of various member of the family.
