Acquisition Information
The papers of Frank Kameny, gay rights activist, were given to the Library of Congress in 2006 by the Kameny Papers Project. Acting as joint donors, the project's contributors purchased the papers and donated them to the Library through the agency of donor representative Charles C. Francis. An addition to the collection was given by the Kameny Papers Project in 2010 and by bequest of Frank Kameny via Timothy Clark in 2012.
Processing History
The papers of Frank Kameny were organized and described in 2008 by Michael McElderry with the assistance of Kimberly Owens and Tammi Taylor. The addition was organized and the finding aid revised in 2014 by Karen Linn Femia with the assistance of Kimberly Owens and Tammi Taylor.
Transfers
Audiotapes and an audio CD have been transferred to Library's Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as part of these papers.
