Acquisition Information
The papers of Maurice F. Neufeld, labor historian, labor arbitrator, and labor relations consultant, and public official of New York, were given to the Library of Congress in 1958 by Neufeld. Additional gifts were received in 1970 and 1971. Subsequent additions to the papers in 1972, 1977, 1984, 1991, 1995, and 2002 were received from Neufeld as deposits by the Library. In 1997, Neufeld transferred all rights to the collection to the Library of Congress upon his death.
Processing History
The papers of Maurice F. Neufeld were arranged and described by William J. Parham in 1980, and by Connie L. Cartledge in 1988. The collection was expanded and revised in 1994 by Joseph K. Brooks. The finding aid was revised in 2009. Material received from 1995 to 2002 was processed in 2020 by Rachel Telford.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. The newspapers Sicilia Liberata (1943-1944) and Risorgimento (1944) have been transferred to the Serial and Government Publications Division. The poster Banditi Di Roosevelt (circa 1945) has been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Maurice F. Neufeld Papers.
