Scope and Content Note
The papers of Charles Maccubbin (born 1865) span the years circa 1945-1988 and pertain to his active service in the United States Army, 1886-1919. Maccubbin served as a private in the Twenty-first Infantry, 1886-1891, in New York and Wyoming. Upon reenlisting, he served in the Eighteenth Infantry, primarily in Texas and the Philippines, 1892-1919. Maccubbin was commissioned captain in 1918 and major in 1919 and retired from the military in 1932.
The papers contain Maccubbin's memoirs of his military service, including the original manuscript written circa 1945-1946 and a typescript copy produced by Elinor B. Bethel in 1988. The papers also include a manuscript map of the Davao Bay area, Philippines; photocopies of Maccubbin's service record; and photographs of Maccubbin, his wife, Emma Theresa Maccubbin, and son, Warnock Maccubbin.
