The papers of Edward Frost, planter, businessman, state legislator, and district attorney for South Carolina, were deposited in the Library of Congress by Dwight H. Gadsen in 1936 and converted to a gift in 1952.

Selected documents relating to the antebellum South have been included in Records of Ante-Bellum Southern Plantations From the Revolution Through the Civil War, a microfilm publication issued by University Publications of America, 1985-2000.
