Provenance
The papers of Norman Hapgood, editor, diplomat, and author, and his wife, Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood, editor and translator, and their families were given to the Library by their daughter, Elizabeth Hapgood, in 1976. Additional items were given in 1978 and 1984.
Processing History
The papers of Norman Hapgood and Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood were arranged in 1981, and the finding aid was completed in 1984. Additional material received in 1984 was processed in 1989. The finding aid was revised in 2010.

Photographs have been transferred to the Library's Prints and Photographs Division where they are identified as part of the Norman Hapgood and Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood Papers.
