Scope and Content Note
The collection of the Lincoln Group of Chicago relating to Abraham Lincoln spans the years 1903-1952 with the bulk of the material dating between 1935 and 1939. The group was founded in 1930 to encourage research on Abraham Lincoln and was composed of authors, collectors, and students of Lincoln. The collection consists chiefly of speeches and writings by and for members of the organization. Correspondence and miscellaneous items pertain to the acquisition of a Lincoln portrait.
