Acquisition Information
The papers of Sergius Pankejeff, patient of Sigmund Freud, were received by the Library of Congress as gifts from the Sigmund Freud Archives between 1963 and 1986, as a bequest from the estate of Sergius Pankejeff in 1982, and as a gift from K. R. Eissler in 1990.
Processing History
The papers of Sergius Pankejeff were arranged and described by T. Michael Womack with the assistance of Brian McGuire in 1994. Additional material was incorporated into the collection by Margaret McAleer in 2002. Oversize containers housing Pankejeff's artwork were renumbered at this time. The finding aid was further revised by Margaret McAleer in 2010 and 2014, and by Matthew Darby in 2023, when additional material opened for researcher use. The finding aid was updated in 2023 by Maria Farmer as part of a division-wide remediation project by the Inclusive Description Working Group.
