Scope and Content Note
The papers of Edwin Patrick Kilroe (1880-1953) span the years 1929-1950, with the bulk of the material dated between 1929-1931 and 1937-1950. The collection consists of a typescript diary, memoranda, and legal opinions relating to Kilroe's activities as legal counsel at the Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation. The diary provides a detailed look at Kilroe's activities as well as those of the legal department of Twentieth Century-Fox. In addition to daily entries the diary also includes a chronological list of matters assigned to the legal department. Bound volumes of memoranda and legal opinions contain an index at the front of the first volume and document Kilroe's views on copyright infringement, unfair competition, registration of trademarks, and general law.
