Administrative Information
Provenance
The records of the League of Women Voters (U.S.) were first deposited in the Library of Congress by the League of Women Voters in 1933. Those records and subsequent additions were converted to a gift in 1950. The league donated additional material between 1950 and 1990, and additions were also given by the Arthur and Elisabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at Radcliffe College in 1980 and 1984.
Processing History
The collection was processed in 1994. The records of the League of Women Voters received by the Library between 1933 and 1968 were described in a preliminary finding aid that was updated in 1994 with the addition of material received between 1979 and 1990. Containers in Parts I, II, and III of the records were renumbered at that time to eliminate inconsistencies in the original box numbering scheme. The finding aid was revised again in 2010.
