Acquisition Information
The papers of Charles Habib Malik, Lebanese diplomat, statesman, philosopher, and educator, were given to the Library of Congress by Malik from 1978 to 1983. In 1998 Habib C. Malik gave articles published by his father in 1986 and posthumously in 1994.
Processing History
The Malik Papers were processed in 1998 by Margaret H. McAleer with the assistance of Paul Colton, Jennifer Gunter, Amy Kunze, John Maniha, Brian McGuire, and John Monagle. The finding aid was revised in 2010. The finding aid was updated in 2024 by Maria Farmer as part of a division-wide remediation project by the Inclusive Description Working Group.
Transfers
Some photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division where they are identified as part of these papers.
