The papers of Wilbur John Carr (1870-1942) span the years 1892-1942 and consist of correspondence, diaries, speeches, biographical material, articles, scrapbooks, photographs, and other papers chiefly concerning the operations and personnel policies of the Department of State during his tenure with that organization from 1902 to 1939. Topics also include Carr's service as minister to Czechoslovakia in 1937 as well as his personal and social life.
