Acquisition Information
The papers of Carl R. Rogers were given to the Library of Congress by Rogers in 1977. Additional items were given by Rogers in 1982, Valerie Henderson in 1988 and 2015, Kenneth N. Cissna in 1996, and Barbara T. Brodley in 1999.
Processing History
The papers of Carl R. Rogers were arranged and described in 1993 by Michael Spangler with the assistance of Sheila Day, Scott McLemee, and Susie Moody. The finding aid was revised in 2010. The 2022 Addition was processed and the finding aid revised in 2022 by Andrea J. Briggs with the assistance of Shandra Morehouse.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Motion picture films and video and sound recordings have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division. Most photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Carl R. Rogers Papers. Patrons are encouraged to contact these divisions in advance of a research visit.
