Acquisition Information
The papers of Carl W. Ackerman, journalist, educator, and public relations consultant, were given to the Library of Congress by Ackerman and his estate, 1959-1971.
Processing History
The Ackerman Papers were processed in 1973. That year the Library also published Carl William Ackerman, A Register and Index of His Papers in the Library of Congress. The finding aid was revised in 2011.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Photographs, drawings, and prints have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. Maps and atlases have been transferred to the Geography and Map Division. Recordings and a volume of musical instruction have been transferred to the Music Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Carl W. Ackerman Papers.
