Provenance
The papers of Alexander Meigs Haig, army officer and public official, were given to the Library of Congress by Haig in several installments between 1979 and 1982.
Processing History
The Haig Papers were processed in 1993. The finding aid was revised in 2010, and again in 2015.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Audiotape recordings that do not contain national security information (unclassified) have been transferred to Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division. Photographs that do not contain national security information (unclassified) have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Alexander Meigs Haig Papers.
