Acquisition Information
The papers of Jack Kemp, United States cabinet official, United States representative from New York, and football player, were given to the Library of Congress in 2010 by his wife, Joanne Kemp.
Processing History
The papers of Jack Kemp were processed in 2011 by Connie L. Cartledge, Donna Ellis, Kathleen O'Neill, and Karen Stuart, with the assistance of Thomas Bigley, Maria Farmer, Rosa Hernandez, Anna Kephart, Amanda Lapham, Sherralyn McCoy, Dan Oleksiw, Carolyn Ray, and JoAnna Roman. The finding aid was revised by Connie L. Cartledge in 2014.
Digital files were received as part of the Jack Kemp Papers on a variety of storage media, each of which was assigned a unique digital ID number. Use the digital ID number to request access copies of the files associated with each media. Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Some photographs and prints have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. Sound recordings, films and videotapes have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division. Some autographed books have been transferred to the Rare Book and Special Collections Division. Forty-two books have been transferred to the Library's general collection. One framed map, "Geographiae Sacrae Tabula, in qua Terra Promissa," a gift to Kemp from Ariel Sharon was transferred to the Geography and Map Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Jack Kemp Papers.
