Summary | United States Army officer, United States representative from New York and diplomat. Correspondence, speeches, documents, legal and financial papers, clippings, and printed matter, including drafts of reports to the secretary of state while Sickles was serving as minister to Spain (1869-1873) relating, in part, to the Cuban Insurrection and to the Virginius affair.
