Scope and Content Note
The records of the World Calendar Association, founded in 1930 to promote calendar reform, span the years 1450-2001. They consist of correspondence, speeches, reports, articles, manuscripts and galley proofs of material appearing in the Journal of Calendar Reform, publicity material, scrapbooks, clippings, and photographs relating to the organization. The collection is arranged in ten series: General Files, 1931-1955 ; Speech, Article, and Book File, 1932-1956 ; The Journal of Calendar Reform, 1931-1955 ; United Nations File, 1945-1955 ; Newspaper Clippings, 1932-1955 ; Miscellany ; Wilmer Henry Souder Files, 1929-1953 ; Scrapbooks ; an Addition, 1937-2001 ; and Oversize, circa 1450-1955 .
The collection includes correspondence with and papers of a wide variety of organizations and periodicals. Correspondents include Elisabeth Achelis; William Henry Barton; Samuel Whittemore Boggs, Ralph J. Bunche, Carrie Chapman Catt, William Henry Grenfell, Baron Desborough; and Ching-sung Yü.
